The goal of fashion is to look distinctive, however sometimes trying to be distinctive can lead to looking slightly more bizarre. Dior’s new HarDior Homme Winter Collection sunglasses are a prime example of this. Designed by creative director Kris Van Assche, the bold accessories, are inspired by the underground rave culture that consumed the UK nightlife during the 1990s. The rectangular mask shape has been reinterpreted with a fine metal frame and cut out temples to look more modern and pared down. The glasses are available in a mirror-effect lens offered in a choice of three electric hues; silver, orange and green with each colour as striking as the last.
Dior have clearly unearthed this style with the intention to be audacious but is this to good effect? If you want to be subtle then no. However, if you dress to be unconventional, look no further.
