Baroque Meets Avant Garde: Songzio’s Piccadill at Paris Fashion Week

At Paris Fashion Week, SONGZIO debuted its FW25 collection, Piccadill, a creative reimagination of the Baroque. Piccadill rejects tradition and favours avant-garde defiance, drawing inspiration from the era’s elaborate collars. The fusion of luxury and creative flair gave rise to clothes that embody art and rebellion, redefining the concept of beauty in the signature Songzio style.

Voluminous shapes, exquisite needlework, and avant-garde tailoring define the collection. Raw edges and asymmetric drapes mix with rich fabrics like velvet and holographic silk, resulting in a visceral conversation between chaos and elegance. Each piece serves as a canvas for SONGZIO’s hand-painted artwork, which combines texture and storytelling in designs that conceal as much as they reveal.

The collection unites East and West, combining the Baroque’s theatrical opulence with the fluidity of Oriental aesthetics. Muted tones of black and grey dominate, accented by bursts of vermillion and gold, creating a visual tension that is both royal and rebellious. The mix of textures and colours creates a multidimensional spectacle that combines the past and the present.

Piccadill, supported by a live industrial-meets-electronic track, goes beyond the runway to showcase a boundary-pushing vision of fashion. SONGZIO’s stark contrast of refinement and chaos serves as a reminder that style is wielded rather than merely worn.
