Farfetch and Gucci Collaborate with Artists Bringing Utopian Worlds to Life
Farfetch, as one of the leading global platform for the luxury fashion world, has announced the launch of a new year-long collaboration with Italian high-end brand Gucci on the 29th of March, 2021. The title of this collaboration is ‘Imagined Futures’, which indicates a multi-experience program that focuses on sustainability, innovation and community.
The first part of the collaboration, created by renowned college artist Seana Gavin celebrates the new Gucci Off The Grid collection, which shows the aesthetic of utopia, and reflects the culture of sustainability and reimagines them as beautiful works of art. For South Korean artist Novo, the future is seen as a ‘harmonious village’. In this designer’s collage, the small village is surrounded by wide and green fields, which is show a sense of the utopia that people cultivate their lands without damaging the environment. For the British musician Kam-BU, the future world is in the concept of ‘modern metropolis’. This idea is urban and advanced, in which the world sees the city as a centre for innovation, where education is revolutionized to include mandatory outdoor learning. The American sustainability expert Dominique Drakeford and Norwegian publisher and editor Elise by Olsen, suggest the concepts of ‘bountiful forest’ and ‘beautiful utility’, which indicate harmony and technology.
Gucci and Farfetch both put lots of effort to continue to make shopping immersive and engaging, so that the customers can view items in a diverse way. According to these artists, designers, writers and publishers’ ideas, a new future is revealed in the current giant fashion revolution.
