“Save What You Love”: Stella McCartney’s Bird-Inspired SS25 Collection
‘Save what you love’ is the message Stella McCartney is trying to convey through her Spring/Summer 25 collection at Paris Fashion Week. As the leading name in luxury sustainability, McCartney always finds a way to call out the industry for not pushing for change hard enough. This season was no different.
The collection is a celebration of birds and all animals, hailing the fact that the collection was crafted without harming a single creature and was curated using 91% conscious materials. There was a powerful call to action for the fashion industry to stop using birds’ feathers and protect them instead.
Power, sensuality, and sport take on new forms in the Summer 2025 collection, expressed through loose-fitting trench coats, feminine blazers and slouchy trousers with belt detailing. Bold suiting paired with plunging v-necks vegan leather skirts, and lead-free crystal embellishments.
Throughout the collection, there are hand-painted dove motifs on asymmetric silk blouses, knotted gowns and sheer chiffons. Birds were reinterpreted through cloud knits and statement gold jewellery. The highlight of the show was the new Stella Ryder bag which is inspired and sculpted into the shape of a horse and is 100% vegan, it was paired with a copy of the Stella Times Newspaper which details the vision behind the collection.
In conclusion, Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 25 collection at Paris Fashion Week showcases her unwavering commitment to luxury sustainability and serves as a call to action for the fashion industry to evolve now. The collection truly prompts the audience to ‘Save What You Love,’ inspiring a collective urge to do more to protect and save our animals and precious environment.
