NET-A-PORTER announces an exclusive retail partnership with J. Crew launching globally from September 13, 2016.
The 25-piece collection pays homage to the iconic Breton stripe which has become synonymous with the American brand’s signature aesthetic. The classic print has been reimagined in different iterations in the form of crew neck tops, blouses, dresses, skirts, jackets, coats, sneakers and a shearling stole.
Alison Loehnis, President of NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER, comments: “We have enjoyed a strong and longstanding relationship with J Crew since our partnership on their global launch in 2010 and we are delighted to be working with them again so closely on this exclusive capsule collection. The brand’s Breton striped top is a continual bestseller for us, so we anticipate a fantastic response from our customers.”
Jenna Lyons, President and Creative Director of J. Crew says: “When NET-A-PORTER suggested a stripe collaboration, it felt like they had handed us a golden goose. The Breton stripe has long been a tradition for European culture, as well as American fashion. We had more ideas than room on the floor. The edit, which is NET-A-PORTER’s strong point, is the result of an extremely fun collaboration. My favorite pieces are the craziest – the bias striped fur coat, and the most simple – a striped boat neck t-shirt with a tulle hem. Tradition and surprise – the magic is in the mix.”
