MM6 Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2025 Show Channels The Dog Days

Sweltering lights slowly baked the models of MM6 Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2025 show, slicking them with sweat. Blares of techno, from artists such as Svetec and Age of Love, coupled with the low industrial ceilings of the La Pelota Jai Alai, Milan, created an encapsulating atmosphere of heat.

The MM6’s hallmarks of urban-punk were on full display, with a certain do-it-yourself attitude applied to the outfits. Spray-painted pants dribbled drops onto loosely tied boots, coats look as if they’ve been put through the wash in a cement mixer, and plastic bags were transformed into tops.

Whether it be boots, sandals, or heels, the footwear provided a fashionable feel for the sizzling weather. For Salonen, it’s all about finding the atypical in the typical.

The show prided itself in its meticulous use of detail in accessories, palette-complimenting bags, bracelet stacks, and hanging necklaces all glinting in the humidity. Across tees and knit tops, “THERE IS MORE ACTION TO BE DONE TO FIGHT AIDS THAN WEAR THIS T-SHIRT BUT IT’S A GOOD START” harkened back to Founder Maison Margiela’s original AIDS message from 1994.

Beating the heat, MM6 Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2025 show saw the cool of urban-punk put into the sultry seasonal spotlight.
