Miu Miu and Levi’s collaborate on a new sustainable capsule collection!
For the past two years, sustainability talks have been at the center of attention for various industries, fashion being one of them.
Designers have been called to improve and upgrade their productions and work together towards a greener industry. With their latest collaboration with the Italian fashion house, Miu Miu and Levi’s clearly stated their commitment and concern for this cause. The two brands released a capsule “Upcycled” series of designs made up of vintage denim fabrics that were re-worked by the Miu Miu team, giving them new life with colorful patterns and 3D details. Each garment has been embellished by Miu Miu with some of their statement touches such as precious embroidery, beads, flowers, or crystals. The outerwear was modified using balloon sleeves and leather decorations. In honor of this collaboration, the iconic Levi’s label was also dyed pink.
British actress Emma Corrin was chosen as one of the protagonists of the advertising campaign for the collection, alongside Lila Moss, daughter of Kate Moss and Georgia Palmer. Given the decision to “recycle” old Levi’s garments the collection is made up of unique pieces: not only jeans (model 501) but also denim jackets.
The pieces born from the collaboration between Miu Miu and Levi’s will be presented in London at Selfridges and Shanghai at IAPM in mid-May. From Monday, May 24th, the collection will be available exclusively in 18 selected Miu Miu stores and at Dover Street Market in Los Angeles. The capsule collection will also be available on the Miu Miu website!
