Fendi – A Celebration of Extraordinary Italian Elegance

In 2017, Karl Lagerfeld and Fendi presented a fabulous walkway that curved across the Trevi Fountain in Rome with the couture collection. It is not hard to see that Fendi has always valued history, being based in Rome is one of the most essential elements for the brand’s cultural promotion. Kim Jone’s AW21 ready-to-wear collection revealed a new chapter, which defined an extraordinary Italian elegance from a fresh perspective. The digital show took place in a museum-looking space with intricate mirroring scenes, the brand’s respect for the everlasting ancient culture is still highly visible and meaningful.

The shades of the collection are very mild, with a majority of white, black, brown and beige, the beauty of modern is making a perfect balance with the antique broken columns inside the glass boxes. Fendi’s classical materials like furs and feathers are spreading a beautiful sense of femininity, furthermore, the softness of silk neutralizes the inevitable heaviness in Autumn/Winter designs, adds a perfect touch.

Through all these years since the beginning of this century, Fendi has been looking for the perfect middle ground between the futuristic look and historical inspiration. Under the pressure of the current environment, Fendi breaks free from the limitation of the runway and presented us with a combination of classical and modern beauty with its special sensuality of cultural cultivation.
