Elegance Through Eccentricity: Valentino Le Pavillon des Folies Spring/Summer 2025

The artful abstraction of Valentino was put on full display at Valentino’s Le Pavillon des Folies, aptly translating into “The Crazy Pavilion”, for their Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris. Crazy, it seems, was the umbrella term that encapsulated the show in the best way possible.

A gaggle of celebrities and stars gathered, vehement for the Valentino reveal, among which were Harry Styles, Sir Elton John, and Andrew Garfield.

Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s specialty in the maximalist style paired perfectly to his highly anticipated Valentino debut. Each outfit overflowed with design and decoration, an overabundance of passion.

Opening the show was a tuxedo/dress hybrid, setting stage for the otherworldly and ethereal wardrobe that would follow in its wake. Piercing patterns, eye-popping patterns, tinted glasses lenses, ruffled collars, miniature bow ties, and gloves galore were just the tip of the iceberg in Michele’s books.

The meticulous mish-mashing of ideas blends bold contrasting concepts together into what can only be articulated as “crazy”. Michele is essentially pushing the square peg into the circle hole, and making it look as natural as breathing.

Michele encompasses it best, stating after the show that “Frivolousness is not useless”.
