COVERUNCOVER: Juun J Weaves Opposites Into Art

Juun.J’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, COVERUNCOVER, transformed the Palais de Tokyo into an exquisite showcase of controlled chaos. Creative Director Jung Wookjun played with contradictions—oversized vs. fitted, structured vs. fluid—to craft a wardrobe that felt both secure and daring. Dramatic outerwear, from oversized fur coats to sculptural bomber jackets, cinched at the waist, making way for functional, avant-garde streetwear silhouettes and crisp tailoring. The result? A silhouette that defies expectations while remaining perfectly balanced.

Material play was equally adventurous. Glossy leather contrasted with shaggy faux fur, ribbed knits mixed with clean cotton twill, and traditional houndstooth blended into contemporary pinstripes. The textures and patterns didn’t merely coexist; they complemented each other, providing depth and making each outfit seem like a statement. Despite the stark differences, the collection retained an easy flow, demonstrating that opposites don’t just attract, but elevate as well.

The minimalist staging, set against a stark 100-meter-long black runway, kept the focus on the craftsmanship at play. Each model moved like a force of nature, with volume and precision merging into a mesmerizing rhythm. Juun.J’s signature monochrome palette, punctuated by strategic bursts of color, underscored the brand’s mastery of visual storytelling.

With COVERUNCOVER, Wookjun achieved a seamless dialogue between opposites, where the tension between extremes resulted in a collection that felt undeniably modern and unmistakably Juun. J.
