Dior Men’s Fashion Collaborates with Japanese Artist Otani Workshop for an Exclusive Capsule
Dior’s latest Men’s Fashion collection has been released this month with an exclusive capsule permeating joyful energy. Fashion designer Kim Jones collaborated with Japanese artist Otani Workshop to bring the collection to life.
The collection is marked by a small green monster created by Otani, highlighting the playful, naive, and simple nature of the collection.
Otani Workshop has surpassed expectations in recent years, with his work making him the leading representative of Japanese ceramics. Having studied sculpture at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts in 1999, Otani has admirably mastered traditional ceramic techniques with tremendous attention to detail. His work is unique, embodying ancient traditions through a highly individual vision and his work suggests a world experienced without filters. He himself has noted, ‘I want to create work that has a spirit of its own.’ His work has been displayed in shows in Shanghai, Seoul, Paris, and New York City. Now, Dior’s latest Men’s Fashion claims his work.
The bewitching motif of the small green monster that punctuates the collection inhibits playful energy. The green creature flourishes in oversized versions of refined sweaters and subtly unfurls on short-sleeved t-shirts and bombers, evoking the smart-casual spirit of the Dior Spring 2024 line as well as the new tennis shoes B33 high top.
The exclusive capsule is now available in Dior boutiques worldwide.
