The new pop-up restaurant in Hamburg opened this June.
Hauke Neubecker and Jens Paulsen traveled around the world to collect special recipes for raw fish delicacies.
Just another sushi restaurant? Neubecker, owner of the established fish restaurant “Jellyfish”, shows us that raw fish can be much more as that. Tiradito, Kokonda, Poké – visitors can enjoy exotic dishes from South America, Polynesia or Hawaii. Each of this country has totally different techniques to “pickling”, “marinating” or “denaturing” their raw fish. Pure Sea invites you to a culinary journey.
During the six months of opening, Hauke Neubecker will overwhelm us with his passion for special raw fish dishes. Guests will enjoy a high level of quality and a casual atmosphere. You will find the Pure Sea in one of the coolest districts in Hamburg at the Grindelviertel – where students and wealthy people come together.
The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 1 p.m. till 10 p.m. Everybody is welcome at lunchtime, evening or in between.
The restaurant offers seating facilities indoor as well as outdoor. The interior is handpicked in white, light gray and turquoise. The heart of the Pure Sea is the marble counter, which is also the cook’s area. Here does the magic happen. The cook creates fantastic dishes right in front of the guests.
The menu includes eight dishes – one of them is vegetarian. “Best Of” is the tuna tartare with watermelon and yellow Gazpacho or Tiradito of the wolf bass as well as yellowtail mackerel with cold pea soup. All ingredients are authentic and seasonal products.
This restaurant concept focuses on fresh food and low-carb dishes.
